Mortgage Servicer To Pay Back $1.5M To Screwed-Over Homeowners

Residential Credit Solutions is a mortgage servicer specializing in delinquent loans and “credit-sensitive” (read: high-risk for default) residential mortgages. But after allegedly screwing over homeowners by, among other things, not honoring loan modifications on mortgages transferred from other servicers, RCS is on the hook to pay $1.5 million in restitution and a $100,000 penalty to federal regulators.

Krieger is right about the fundamentals. While I have not reviewed his report, it appears from what I have heard about it that in contains misstatements and inaccuracies. BUT the idea that the foreclosures are largely a fraud upon homeowners and the Courts is well-founded.

Joe Woods Takes Back His Home After Being Evicted

Tuesday, August 4, Joe Woods publicly announced at a rally that he has returned to his Rochester, NY home from which his family was evicted on June 17. Woods did not repurchase the home, instead he was moved back in with help from Take Back the Land Rochester, the organization which initially helped him defend against the eviction.
